History
In 1946 Grace Methodist Church and St. John's Methodist Church merged to form Christ United Methodist Church under the leadership of Dr. Dorsey Kelly.
In 1946 the first phase of the east educational building was constructed.
In 1954 the sanctuary was constructed.
On May 15, 1955 the first service was held in the sanctuary under the direction of Rev. Charles Simpson
Many great activities and ministry that benefited the community were done for years until the church began to experience a period of decline and economic challenge.
On December 25, 2011 Rev. Semaj Y. Vanzant, Sr. became the senior pastor of this ministry. He was joined in ministry by the associate pastor, Rev. Linda Truitt.
Under Pastor Vanzant's leadership the church grew over 300% in worship attendance, outreach ministry, and budget.
On December 31, 2013 the name Christ United Methodist Church was retired.
On January 1, 2014, The Christ Experience was born from the desire of a group of people willing to make the necessary adjustment to become a vital ministry.
